DiscoverYourCause has three stages of development:
- DYC concept development
- Website mock-up development
- Website development
DiscoverYourCause is a living organization, so none of these phases will ever be completed. Even once DiscoverYourCause is up and running you'll still be able to help shape the overall concept, the website mock-up or the actual website. In this way, DiscoverYourCause will always be poised to respond quickly to a rapidly changing world. This means that you can contribute to any stage at any time. Start contributing wherever you can right now!
Here's how you can get involved in the website mock-up development:
- Build the website concept: Within our wiki you'll find a whole category devoted to our website mock-up. This is designed to share the vision of the actual website, rather than the organization. We hope this will help in brainstorming and will ultimately give guidance to our programming buddies that will put this into action. On the main page click on the Homepage link and it will take you to the homepage of the concept website. Here you can add content to the homepage and add links to other pages for the website (obviously you'll need to create those pages too). If that doesn't make sense, the website concept is already underway. Head on over to the Homepage and you'll get the idea. (Don't forget that your purpose is to translate the pillars into a website not to create new pillars. If you don't like the pillars contribute to the DYC concept design.)
- Contribute to our guiding principles of website design: These are things like selecting a color scheme and naming conventions.
